The Los Angeles Angels Of Anaheim took on the the Texas Rangers yesterday at Angel Stadium with the Angels coming out on top 5 to 0. It was a solid match that aficionados with Angels tickets won’t soon forget. Not much compares to America’s Pastime so stock up on cheap baseball tickets and see all the fun live.
Angels pitcher Matt Palmer (4.00 ERA) got the win, while Derek Holland (6.12 ERA) took the loss for the Rangers. Matt Palmer went 5 innings for the Angels, allowed one hit, no home runs and no earned runs with 2 walks and one strikeout. Also pitching for the Angels was Darren Oliver (2.79), Jose Arredondo (5.73), Kevin Jepsen (4.73), and Rafael Rodriguez (5.64). The Rangers’s starter Derek Holland went 6.1 innings, allowed 8 hits, no home runs and 4 earned runs with no walks and 3 strikeouts. Jason Grilli (5.40), and Eddie Guardado (4.46) also pitched for the Rangers. With the win, Palmer’s record goes to 11-2, while Holland is at 8-13.
In addition to the 5 runs, the Angels scored 11 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Angels, as nobody managed more than 2 hits. The Rangers didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Rangers scored no runs, one hit and no errors.
Umpiring duties were performed by Dan Iassogna, Larry Vanover, Sam Holbrook and Mike Winters. There were 40,616 Angels ticket holders in attendance at Angel Stadium.
The win puts the Angels at a record of 94-64, still leading their division, while the loss brings the Rangers to 85-73, (9 games behind first place in the division). The Rangers and Angels go again tomorrow. There are still plenty of tickets available so take a look.
